Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese is a family owned business established in 2005. The Hempenstall family farm lies between Croghan Mountain and the Irish Sea at Curranstown, Arklow, Co. Wicklow just 2km from the East Coast. John and his family before him have been farming here for generations. We use milk from the family farm Friesian herd to make our creamy delicious cheeses.
The proximity to the sea adds a distinctive flavour all of its own to these seductively addictive cheeses. John and his family work seven days a week to produce award-winning artisan cheeses like you’ve never tasted before. "Every day on our farm in Co. Wicklow our prize herd of Friesians graze contentedly on succulent grasses gently caressed by sea breezes. This gives our milk an unmistakable freshness and flavour all of its own. This is the milk we use to make our famous Wicklow Blue, Wicklow Bán and Wicklow Gold Cheeses. We are passionate about providing our award winning artisan cheese like you've never tasted before"
